Go Yoga was the first Vinyasa style Yoga center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Our doors opened in January of 2000 and we've been going strong ever since. We emphasize sophistication of instruction and atmosphere, while remaining friendly and unpretentious.
Vinyasa literally means "Movement Breathing System." By synchronizing movement with breath and applying technical aspects of the practice, an intense internal heat is produced. This heat cleanses and purifies the body's muscles, organs and nervous system releasing unwanted toxins. When done properly (with intention, dedication and instruction) the result is a light, strong body and a calm, clear mind.
Our hand-picked instructors are some of the best New York City has to offer. Teachers are hired based on their training, teaching experience and approach to the material. There is a diverse range of practices offered - from chanting, meditations, breathing practices, the physical postures, yogic philosophy and Tibetan Buddhist teachings. The paths are many, but the truth is one. All our classes have in common the wish to present this ancient science of Yoga in it's entirety according to Master Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.
In addition we host a variety of special events and workshops, including Community Acupuncture every Sunday from 4-6 and Mysore Ashtanga.
Mat rental, towel rental, restrooms, and changing rooms are all available.
Go Yoga is committed to environmental sustainability. We strive to make as many green choices as possible.
