One of the best things about working on Hourspaces is learning about so many interesting things going on in the city. A prime example: the 52nd Street Project. Their stated mission is dedication to the creation and production of new plays for, and often by, kids from 9-18 who live in Hell’s Kitchen. The Project matches kids with mentors, including big names like Edie Falco and Jesse L. Martin, to learn about acting and about the experience of success.
For its first fifteen years, the Project used borrowed spaces for productions and programs, but it now has its own spaces and theater. When it’s not in use by the Project, this 150 seat theater is available for rental by other artists. This flexible, black box theater is complemented by two rehearsal rooms, a full lobby, restrooms, a gallery and terrace, and dressing areas with showers. Full lighting equipment and sound technology are also available for your use.
So, when you need a space for your production, and want to simultaneously support New York City children in the arts, check out the 52nd Street Project. This space will just make you feel good!
Need a beautiful space to show beautiful things? Whether you need space for a pop-up gallery, a corporate event, wedding, or a photo shoot – Gary’s Loft may be just what you’re looking for. Gary offers a gorgeous, enormous, and well-designed 5,000 square foot penthouse on 36th Street, with multiple levels to support whatever function you are holding. A huge bonus is the roof deck, which is fully usable for your function and has amazing Empire State Building views.
Gary’s Loft opened in 2005 as a photography studio, and has expanded to become so much more. As the loft became an in-demand event venue, it was expanded and a beautiful custom cherry staircase was built to connect the Penthouse with the 4,500 square foot studio below. In 2009, the 11th floor loft was expanded and renovated – adding antique oak floors and a fully functional warm-up kitchen area for caterers…making your event even easier.
So, if you’re looking to impress your guests with Manhattan chic and convenience but amenities not often found in the city, give Gary’s Loft a look. You won’t be disappointed.
